Back in June I had the amazing opportunity to go to Seattle to shoot a wedding! It was such a fun city to visit and Shooting there was incredible. I loved hanging out with this awesome family and getting to know them. They were so good to me while I was there. And it worked out great because My family was in town for my Cousins wedding that I was also able to attend. It was just perfect!

So this is an image my mom took just a few weeks ago after one of her shoots in California. I loved this location but ever since I saw this horrible thing I have been terrified! So I was going to avoid going there on any of my shoots while I was in California. Well.. when it came to these pictures our original shoot had to get rescheduled because we had insane wind! It was seriously crazy, so I got a couple of pictures and then we had to quit. And we decided for the second shoot to go somewhere else.. and the rattlesnakes home was where we decided to go. I was terrified beyond words. My hubby was there checking it all out, but every little sound I heard I thought was going to have a man eating rattle snake. It was seriously so scary! And while we did see some wildlife... there were no snakes! Thank Goodness!

I love Hayley and her family. We also grew up together so it was so much fun for me. Isn't her little girl such a doll! She had a lot of personality wrapped up into one little person and she is simply Gorgeous. It was fun to get the variety in locations too.. so it all worked out!

We had a major entourage for this shoot. And to be honest I was a bit nervous about it. I have never had a wedding planner come to an engagement shoot and I am not used to getting a lot of input from people. But Margo was awesome and really helpful! So I have never actually done strictly a bridals session. Brides always want to do the preshoot or Bridals with the Groom in the pictures. Well we are preshooting this wedding a couple of days before but its in Seattle so we went with a bride only shoot. And it was really fun! I loved being able to just focus on Janet. She is such a classic and glamourous bride. I LOVED her dress. I think If I had her body, this is the type of dress I would have worn too.. she rocked it! GORGEOUS!

Seriously... the weather here has been unbelievably obnoxious! It is making my job 100% more stressful, trying to decide if we need to reschedule or not. I HATE It! This one was so crazy.. I thought for sure we were going to be rained out... Not a good thing when you have a bride.. not good at all! But Holly was willing to brave it out so we went through with it. And I kid you not... It rained the entire way to the shoot. But once I got there... not a single drop fell. And we even got some amazing sun at the end! I just love my Job. I really really do. First of all, I consider my number one job to be a wife and and mother. And it really could not be more rewarding. But Since I do happen to love my hobby enough to make a job of it.... I just have to say that it is really so fulfilling. It is photo shoots like this one that really do make me feel like I am part of something special. This sweet family is saying goodbye to their oldest son who is going to be serving an LDS mission in Croatia. And just a couple months before he gets home, their next son will be leaving. So they will not have any more complete family pictures for four years. I know it was a hard and very emotional shoot for Mom. But I just love that I was able to capture their time time together. So Parker is 4.5 weeks old. I was Soooo nervous for this shoot! Typically babies over two weeks don't sleep at all for their pictures. But Parker was an absolute angel. He was so sweet! And his brothers were adorable too. I haven't done Newborns in a while and it went great! We will just credit it all to their wonderful mommy!

PS... don't get any ideas. You still need to get your babies in before two weeks.... pretty please!

I absolutely adore Kim. I have known her since she was just 12...(makes me feel very old) and now she is getting MARRIED! And I am so happy that she has found Nate. They are so totally adorable and completely in LOVE! It is so fun to see. I Even gave Nate a bit of the third degree on our way home. And he passed with flying colors... I really liked him. I have been wanting to do a shoot like this for a while. Just hanging out in the City. And it was just so much fun! It feels so good to be completely caught up. This was another day that I was feeling seriously blessed. I think it was like 12 degrees outside. You cannot shoot a group this big in 12 degrees. But they were all together and it was so important. So I called up a place that I did a wedding a while ago and asked them how much they would charge me to take pictures there.. free. Thats right free! And we were warm. Almost a little too warm! And this was I think the best color scheme I have seen on a large group.. I LOVED it! Such a great family!

It was cold.. very cold. It was on the day that was supposed to have the biggest storm ever! That ended being the smallest storm ever. But it really was freezing. These Lindstrom girls really know how to pick cold wedding days! I am so glad we did all the romantics ahead of time so we could do it in yummy weather! All in all, it was beautiful, and they are such a great couple.

Kathy is expecting her 6th child. They lost one just after birth years ago. And I just love that they brought the little silver baby rattle to represent him. It was so special to see the kids take turns holding the rattle in the pictures. New baby should be due anyday, so hopefully we will be seeing more of them soon.

I have the best clients ever! People ask me sometimes if how I get my business... And I am happy to say that it 99% word of mouth ( I only don't say 100% because that would be too perfect). And I LOVE it that way! It is so nice having people chose you as a photographer because they LOVE what you do. It feels amazing! The Blackham's were referred to me by two of my clients that I don't think know each other. We kind of scheduled it fast... like we emailed and took the pictures 3 days later. So I really didn't expect much in terms of clothing.. boy was I wrong! She had everything perfect! I love the color choices, just the right amount of accessories and pattern. This was such a neat shoot for me. My college Roommate Molly Lost her little girl a couple of years ago in this horrible accident. She choked on a piece of apple at the age of 2. So So So sad! And Molly is seriously one of the most vivacious, happy people you could ever meet! Anyway, she has set up a website... agoodgrief.com Where people can share their experiences of Grief. She also has auctions and accept donations that go towards helping grieving parents pay for their children's headstones. Such a good cause. I just couldn't imagine loosing Abby. So I donated a photo shoot. And I helped raise ( along with the Firth Family) $175.00. Isn't that just great! I got to work with this amazing family! I just love how my business has progressed. There are seriously a few families that I have become their photographer for just about everything and everyone and it is just wonderful. Alicia and Jon are a great example of that. I have done Alicia's sister and cousin's wedding all within the last year. It is so great to get to know all the families so well and make such good friends. I have also done a huge extended photoshoot of theirs, and their uncle's kids, their uncle's sister-in-laws family, their other uncles family (a few times... you know who you are!) Confusing I know, but you get the picture.

The one drawback to all these weddings in the last year is making them all look unique. Well as soon as Alicia drove up all my worries went out the window! she has such an edgy style that I just love. She is totally her own person and her pictures turned out great! So happy for you guys!

I have said it before and I will say it again.... I have the best clients ever! And Tracy is no exception! She has been so good to me..... She is always bringing me props and things for my business and for my home (love the milk glass! ) We really have become such good friends. I love taking her pictures so much! I love that Krista and Craig wanted to include Craig's daughter Brooklyn in their engagement pictures. Don't they just make a great looking family! I really just love this couple so much, and Brooklyn is a complete doll. She and Abby play so well together and she was easily the most photogenic, well-behaved child I have ever taken pictures of! I am so looking forward to your wedding you guys!
